With several Utah State Board of Education (USBE) seats on the Nov. 8 ballot this year, the series of pre-general election candidate debates continues. To help voters in the respective USBE districts become better acquainted with the individuals seeking to serve in these important roles, three more debates will be conducted next week, live via YouTube, and one as a hybrid in-person/virtual event.
- On Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 6:00 pm, District 8 candidates Christina Boggess and Audryn Damron will discuss questions presented by the moderator and from the viewing audience. USBE District 8 includes parts of Taylorsville, Kearns and West Jordan. Venue for this debate will be Itineris Early College High School, located at 8714 Roy Del Circle in West Jordan. - On Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 12 Noon, District 5 candidates Laurel Fetzer, William Fisher and Sarah Reale will respond to questions from the moderator and from the viewing audience. USBE District 5 includes parts of West Valley City, Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake and Murray. The YouTube link for this debate will be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KObtHCIuDUg.
- On Thursday, Oct. 13, at 12 Noon, District 6 candidates Carol Lear and Melanie Monestere will address questions presented by the moderator and from the viewing audience. USBE District 6 includes parts of Salt Lake City, Holladay, Millcreek, Emigration Canyon, Park City, Brighton and Solitude.
