SALT LAKE CITY (September 24, 2024) – Today, Sutherland Institute is holding an event discussing Utah’s post-election education policy agenda with key state leaders.
Panelists will also discuss new survey data findings from Sutherland’s latest issue brief, released today. The new Sutherland/Y2 Analytics survey found that parents and teachers differ in their perception of parental engagement and access to curriculum.
Highlights from the survey:
- 58% of parents believe they are “very involved” in their child’s education, while only 7% of teachers believe parents are “very involved.”
- 10% of parents believe curriculum is “very accessible,” compared with 38% of teachers.
- 55% of teachers believe curriculum is “extremely” or “very” accessible, while 62% of parents believe it is only “somewhat” accessible.
