With several seats on the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) on the ballot this year, the series of pre-convention candidate debates continues. To help delegates and voters in the respective USBE districts become better acquainted with the individuals seeking to serve in these important roles, two more debates will be conducted next week, live via YouTube.
On Tuesday, April 19, at 12 noon, Republican candidates in District 14 will discuss questions presented by the moderator and from the viewing audience. USBE District 14 includes all or parts of 10 counties: Beaver, Carbon, Emery, Grand, Iron, Juab, Millard, Sanpete, Sevier and Utah.
On Thursday, April 21, also at 12 noon, Republican candidates in District 11 will discuss questions presented by the moderator and from the viewing audience. USBE District 11 includes parts of southwest Salt Lake County and northeast parts of Utah County. Please note that the approximate geographic areas are indicated only as a guide. To find your USBE district, click here and enter your exact street address.
For information about the debates, see the graphic below and at this link.
The debate series is hosted by the Utah Education Debate Coalition: Hinckley Institute of Politics, KSL and the Deseret News, Sutherland Institute, United Way of Salt Lake, Utah PTA, and Utah Association of Charter Schools.
