Sutherland Institute seeks to share innovative approaches to education that offer students as many options as necessary to succeed. And as always, we applaud the courage it takes for innovative leaders to try something new.
Thursday night Juab School District announced its partnership with ASU Prep Digital, an online public charter university-preparatory school at Arizona State University, named the “most innovative university” for the past four years.
This partnership builds on the successes of Utah’s Statewide Online Education Program by providing Utah students – not just those in the Juab School District – access to ASU’s premier college prep courses free of charge. Interested students can come from public, private or home school. Its official launch date is August 19, 2019.
Juab School District’s superintendent, Dr. Rick Robins, said last night, “I am reminded of President John F. Kennedy’s speech in 1962 as he challenged our nation to someday set foot on the moon. He talked about the speed of mankind’s pursuit of innovation and that it means not always following the easiest path and that we choose to do the hard things because it measures us against our very best.”
Congratulations to those families who decide to take advantage of this new option.
We can’t wait to see what Utah education innovators come up with next.
