SALT LAKE CITY (August 1, 2023) – Sutherland Institute is pleased to announce the addition of Beth Akers as a feature contributor to the Sutherland podcast, “Defending Ideas.”
Dr. Akers is a Ph.D. economist and a senior fellow for American Enterprise Institute. Her contributions to Sutherland will include a new monthly feature for the “Defending Ideas” podcast – called “Defending Enterprise” – that will focus on educating voters about economic issues and the importance of defending free enterprise principles. In addition, Dr. Akers will provide frequent expert analysis through written contributions and participation at key Sutherland events.
“Beth offers a unique and expert voice on how American free enterprise impacts the lives of Utahns and Americans,” said Rick Larsen, Sutherland president and CEO. “Her contributions to Sutherland’s multimedia efforts will equip Utah voters with a practical and elevated understanding of what are often complex public policy issues.”
“Sutherland Institute is well positioned in Utah to bring a principled and pragmatic approach to major issues that impact voters,” Dr. Akers said. “I’m eager to contribute meaningful economic analysis that will help Utahns become more informed and more effective defenders of the free enterprise system.”
