Everyone agrees, it’s time Utah starts improving public education. Real reform requires innovative minds driven by individualized learning that allows every child to reach their full potential. We should create space for teachers, parents and local leaders – the real heroes of innovation – to lead, inspire and innovate. More money may be a part of the solution, but money is only as good as the idea it funds. We are talking about big ideas and innovative solutions.

Sutherland Institute isn’t the only one talking about this type of innovation. XQ, a non-profit that started a competition inviting America to reimagine high school, has exploded into a widespread movement. Russlynn Ali, the founder of XQ, said, “We started XQ because we believe our nation’s young people cannot wait any longer for our educational system to change. America’s public high school system was founded to ensure that all high school students have access to a free, high quality education that prepares them for college, career, and life.” Check out their video below!
