Let's see your references for the "wave of mass shootings" in 2004.

Adam Lanza did NOT use an assault rifle. The media lies.Rifles of ANY kind are seldom used in homicides.

Gun ownership is NOT EVEN CORRELATED to murder rates, so there is no statistical justification for assuming causation. Read the article at Harvard Law by Kates.

When you face a life-threatening situation, you will call 911 and pray the good guys with guns get there in time. You will be lucky if there is a good guy with a concealed-carry permit who will already be close by. One big difference between a good guy without a badge and the cops is that the cops are TWICE as likely to shoot the WRONG person when they get there. NYPD recently shot NINE bystanders before they got the perp.

The expiration of the federal assault weapons ban in 2004 was followed by a wave of mass shootings. This year was the worst on record for these senseless massacres. Let's bring back the ban on assault weapons and large-capacity magazines.

Our partisan right-wing Supreme Court is dead wrong about the Second Amendment. It was written in the 18th Century to allow citizens to arm themselves with single-shot muzzle-loading MUSKETS so they could join a militia, and reduce the need for a standing army. It's an anachronism today.
