Amen to that.

Before we act ,or act out, re this very real and heartbreaking problem,we first should take the time to grieve. To look at the children in our lives and commit to loving and taking the time to provide values and religious teaching in their lives. To know them and help them through any struggles in their lives. That said ,the parents of these children, probably did all of this and still could not protect or prepare them, or themselves, for the pure evil that was to enter into their lives. For those of us who believe in God,there is comfort in knowing these victims will continue to be loved ,and sadness that we will miss their growing and the joy they would provide to families, friends and the world, and anger that this happened.

I wish that all of us could direct all of these feelings into something positive in honor of these children and their teachers, those that passed and those that lived throught this horror.

My thought was that we could keep the government out of it completely. We are all so fractured and seems all we can do is argue. One thing, just one thing we could and should do to honor all of these heros, living and dead.

Tear down the school. We simply cannnot send those children and teachers back into that building. We cannot ask the parents to send them there either. Gather together a team of the best at everything to design and build a prototype school that is affordable and safe. One that is a fortress yet will not make children feel THEY are prisoners. It needs to be done with private funding ,it must be a gift from the people to all children ,to try to keep them safe and secure,at least at school. I would hope that schools across the country would begin to build and renovate in the same spirit. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could do something real rather than argue re guns, mental health issues, and ridding our selves of Hollywood trash and video games. None of which can or will go away, or be controlled to provide the needed protection for our children. It appears some states have chosen to surrender in the war on drugs, which will provide us with our next wave of evil to deal with. We continue to feed the beast rather than starve it .So all we can do is build physical and spiritual fortresses to try to protect them, and pray. Pray a lot.
