Here are three easy steps to help you decide whom and what to vote for.
Besides the major federal, state and county office candidates, your ballot can include choices for judges, amendments to the Utah Constitution and county propositions.
To get a handle on all of those choices, follow these easy steps:
1. Go to http://vote.utah.gov/user/lookup/ and enter your information in the fields provided. If you are not registered to vote, you can do so by clicking the link in the “Not Registered to Vote?” box under the voter lookup box.
2. Once you submit your information, you will be taken to a screen that shows you where you should go to vote — your polling place. You will also see a link to the “Voter Information Guide.” Click that link to see a sample ballot similar to the one you will see when you actually go to vote.
3. On the sample ballot, take time to click the names of the candidates, judges, proposed amendments and county propositions. Make sure to scroll all the way down the ballot.
And there you have it. You are now a more informed citizen who can vote confidently on the candidates and issues in the 2012 General Election.
