Three steps to becoming a more informed voter

The June 26 primary election is just around the corner. If you don’t know who or what will be on your ballot, then it’s time to find out. Fortunately, the state of Utah has a great resource for you to see what will be on your ballot and do a little homework before you hit the polls.

Step one:

Go to and enter your information in the fields provided.

Note: If you receive an error message, make sure you entered your HOUSE NUMBER and not your entire street address. If all of your information is correct and you still are not able to access the system, then call your county clerk. You are either not registered to vote or there is a problem with your voter registration.

Step two:

Once you have filled out your information, you are brought to a screen that shows you where your polling place will be. To see what will be on your ballot, click on the button that says “View a Printable Sample Ballot.”

Step three:

Once you pull up your sample ballot, you will notice that many of the candidates are listed in red. These candidates have completed profiles for the website. You can click on their names and get more information about them.

If they have a website listed, visit it and learn more about them.

And there you have it. Spend a little time on this website before heading to the polls and you can feel more confident about your vote.
