Salt Lake City, UT – Sutherland Institute announced that Dr. Laura Schlessinger will be giving out copies of The Natural Family: A Manifesto on her nationally-syndicated radio talk show on June 4, 2007. The Natural Family: A Manifesto was co-authored by Sutherland Institute President Paul T. Mero and Allan C. Carlson, founder of the Howard Center for Family, Religion & Society.
“This book was written in response to the unprecedented confusion regarding the definition of ‘family’,” said Mero. “The natural family does what no other organizing principle can do—it makes everything around it better, it amplifies the best elements of all other institutions. It is the foundation of ordered liberty.”
In the recently published book, Carlson and Mero examine why the family is in crisis, the ways in which the natural family is the source of culture and freedom, and what families can do to preserve the most fundamental and wholesome relationship on earth. Assured that human nature is on their side, the authors can be both realistic about the family’s plight and relentlessly optimistic. The Natural Family: A Manifesto is a road map, especially for the young, for rebuilding a culture of freedom, joy, and love.
What national conservative and family leaders are saying:
• “This family manifesto is nothing short of a blueprint for Western survival,” said Rabbi Daniel Lappin, president of Toward Tradition.
• “[It] demands the attention of all those who would defend civilization’s most basic institution,” said R. Albert Mohler, Jr., Ph.D., president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. “This important document has emerged at just the right time.”
• “A high-principled comprehensive manifesto of the family is vital,” said Robert W. Galvin, former president, Motorola Corporation.
Mero and Carlson recently returned from the World Congress of Families IV in Warsaw, Poland, where they addressed more than 3,000 leaders, scholars, and activists at the largest international pro-family conference of its kind.
