Anti-Voucher Forces Outsmart

Sutherland Institute President Paul T. Mero was quoted in an opinion-editorial written by Vicki E. Murray of the Pacific Research Institute concerning the fight over school vouchers.  “In Utah, parents and the public can only take so much of special interests,” Mero said.  “They only care about protecting their turf, not the best interest of the child.”

Murray writes that directly following the passage of the sweeping school voucher legislation, “opponents were up to their old trick of amending school choice legislation beyond workability…but this ploy is coming back to bite them as they try a new trick to stop the program before it begins.”
