SUTHERLAND INTRODUCES NEW COMMUNICATIONS TEAM
SALT LAKE CITY (Jan. 28, 2011)—Sutherland Institute announced today the formation of a new communications team with the hiring of three new employees. David Buer will head the department’s efforts as the director of communications. Buer has 10 years of communications experience and will focus on media relations, visual communications and strategy.
“Our priority is providing media with valuable resources of insight and commentary in a fluid manner that meets the needs of their many varied projects,” said Buer. “We are also excited about the opportunity to share our message directly with Utahans through a variety of channels.”
Tyler Riggs comes aboard as Sutherland’s manager of communications. Riggs brings several years’ experience as a radio talk show host and newspaper editor to the department, where he will concentrate on facilitating Sutherland’s communications in an increasingly technological world, investigative reporting and social media.
Pamela Whitmore rounds out Sutherland’s communications team as the organization’s editor. Whitmore’s thorough knowledge comes from 20 years of copy editing experience at the Deseret News.
Sutherland Institute invites media to use the Communications Department as their primary point of contact. The department will then direct media to the most appropriate Sutherland resource. Buer can be reached on his office number (801-355-1272), cell (801-657-0756) or email (email@example.com). As another point of contact, Riggs is available at the office number, cell (435-764-6649), or email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
