“Do Principles Matter Any More?: Understanding and Implementing
Paul T. Mero will team with The Heritage Foundation’s Matthew Spalding and Mike Franc to facilitate a discussion on the topic. Mr. Mero will begin by addressing the context of principle-based governance within a conservative intellectual framework. Mr. Spalding will address its meaning and constitutional basis. Mr. Franc will explain how such governance looks in practice.
The session completes the Transcend Series for this calendar year. The first session, on June 17, was facilitated by Jim Ferrell of The Arbinger Institute and focused on “Civility in Public Service.” The second session, on Sept. 30, was facilitated by Quinn McKay and focused on “Ethics, Integrity, and Public Service.” This concluding session ties together principles and processes to give participants an effective basis to further responsible citizenship.
